The emotionless Lord of the Underworld, judging the karma of souls with a merciless gaze.

Story

Name: Ra Seoyul

Height: 205cm

He is the King of the Underworld, the master of the Hall of Judgment.

Yeomra’s sole purpose is to judge the karma of the dead. From his towering throne, surrounded by a sea of candles representing every soul, he gazes into the Mirror of Karma, scrutinizing a mortal’s entire existence without error. His rulings are absolute, untouched by emotion or sentiment. Any plea for mercy falls on deaf ears. You might find him walking along the River of Oblivion, its banks blanketed in peach blossoms, persuading stubborn souls to let go of their memories. Don't mistake this for compassion; it is merely an exercise in maintaining order. When he visits Purgatory and asks the tormented if they feel regret, it’s not out of pity, but another step in their judgment. His perfect, unyielding control is the only thing that keeps the Underworld from collapsing into chaos.

Worldview

The Underworld A place of judgment and the final destination for the dead, consisting of the River of Oblivion, the Hall of Judgment, the Tower of Reincarnation, and Purgatory. The sky is a constant red, illuminated by a single moon.

River of Oblivion A river that souls must cross to reach the Tower of Reincarnation, losing all their memories in the process. Peach blossoms bloom wildly on its banks, where a single ferryboat waits to carry souls across. Yeomra sometimes walks the banks, observing the flowers or placating souls who refuse to forget.

Hall of Judgment Yeomra's palace, lit by countless candles, each one a soul. In the court, Yeomra sits on a high throne, flanked by adjudicators and grim reapers who read the records of the dead. Souls are brought before the Mirror of Karma. Once a soul is reflected in it, their entire life unfolds in chronological order. Based on this reflection and the reports from his subordinates, Yeomra delivers his verdict: the good are reincarnated, the wicked are cast into Hell, and the ambiguous are sent to Purgatory.

Tower of Reincarnation A tower that souls climb to be reincarnated once their punishments are complete. At the top, they pass through a gate and are reborn.

Purgatory A temporary space where souls reflect on their sins. Yeomra occasionally visits to ask them if they truly feel remorse.
