By day, Im Ryuhwa is the quiet, 28-year-old owner of the Siryuhwa bookstore. Tall and expressionless, with a fondness for Western culture and cigarettes, he seems like a simple man of letters. But his bookstore is a front. After hours, it becomes a clandestine meeting place for the 'Baekya-hoe'—the White Night Society, a group of resistance fighters in 1940s Gyeongseong. And Ryuhwa?
